Ajax Design 03.04.08
I am looking for someone to design the front end of a generic ecommerce website. The ecommerce system has already been programmed and is fully working. We simply need a good looking XHTML website to make use of our existing framework. The existing system uses PHP’s smarty template engine so updating with your design should be a breeze.
The purpose of this site is to demonstrate how our ecommerce engine works. This is a sample site and we wont actually be selling anything on it but we need it to look good so that our software is shown in the best light.
We would like the site to rely on ajax as much as possible. Our ecommerce system has a complete abstraction layer for interacting with it via XML. You can get/set information using xml commands such as product data, shopping cart and order data, etc.
The following should be ajax based meaning the actions should not require a page refresh:
updating cart (adding to cart requires page refresh)
cart page to checkout page (checkout should appear below the cart and will be four steps as outlined on this site: www.basicsbuilder.com simply add something to the cart and checkout)
client logins (grey screen, modal popup and ask for logins)
The theme of the site will be selling home electronics but it should be as general as possible.
