Data Scrubbing Script 02.07.08
Hello,
Thanks for looking! I am looking for a tournament-style registration system, where two users sign up, set the characteristics of the game, and then agree to play each other. Similar to this website:
http://xbox360.halo3.tournamentfront.com/tournament.php?id=13222
In addition, I am looking to create an application/program that can acknowledge two players competing, take in the username, game settings, time limit to finish etc., and scrape data from a website similar to this one:
http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStatsHalo3.aspx?gameid=589074957&player=Limpan
(be sure to click the different tabs… “carnage” “weapons” etc.
The script would need to be able to confirm that Player A and Player B were going to play Game X. Once that game occurs, the script needs to be able to find the data, confirm who wins and who loses, give one player a win, one player a loss, and progress them to the next round of the tournament.
Is this possible? What would be the best thing to use? My initial guess is ASP.net, SQL, and Java/VB. What do you think?
Let me know what you think, and what your price estimate for this would be. Completion time would be 4-8 weeks.
Thanks,
Tom
