Digital Shopping Cart 03.10.08
Ok, i am not going to put the features that are considered in the shopping cart like add product, delete product etc. So i will give a brief about this custom cart project.
I am looking for a SEO Friendly shopping cart for digital products (no physical shipping), categories, downloads hosted on our server with reseller module and affiliate module.
Use Ajax in several places.
Eg. in reseller backend
In front end when the customer hit on add to cart so that without refreshing the page it gets added to the cart and shows on the sidebar
>> MUST not use any open source like oscommerce, as they are very heavy and would require a lot of customization
However, i like cs-cart, magentocommerce i mean their frontend and backend. Mainly cs-cart has tons of features we are already looking for. but again to customize it and remove the parts we don’t want would be difficult
Here are the modules we are looking for
– Admin Module
– Customers
– Resellers Module (2 types will explain later in detail)
– Affiliates
– Template module (admin and resellers can change the template they want to be shown on their store)
– Text link and banner Advertising
– Digital product download
– Paypal/2checkout IPN (lateron we must be able to add more payment processors) so these will act as plugins
– Rating and comments/reviews
– Syndication (RSS/Javascript/widgets like ebay, amazon, adsense)
– Mailing
Reseller module is different than affiliate.
Reseller module allows resellers to manage and brand certain parts of the shopping cart which will be showing through their custom url like categories they wish to show on their store, welcome message, they can change the price of the products etc.
That means each reseller will have different shopping cart as per their customization.
NOTE: we are not allowing them add any products, products added by us will be shown on the front end.
Also, the look n feel of the store and backend should be professional and pleasing and not just showing simple forms or tables.
