Macro For Creating Pids In Cj 15.02.08
I need either a macro or a browser submitting program that will allow me to take a spreadsheet of predefined site info required for Commission Junction (CJ) to create PIDs for each site.
If you are not familiar with CJ. The PID fields required include:
Title (input)
URL (input)
Description (input)
Category (predefined checkboxes)
If you are going to use a macro.. I currently am familiar with and use Workspace Macro Pro 6.5. Better however if your macro can work independent of requiring other programs.
The macro will use the data from the spreadsheet. Please keep in mind that the description data could have commas in it, so if you are using a comma delimited format this could break. Tab delimited, or excel might be better.
After the macro creates a PID, it must be able to extract the PID created and write the PID number generated to the spreadsheet. Please note this could be complicated, since in CJ after you create a site, a drop down menu is available to get your PID.
The program should have no limit to how many sites/info I have in the spread. The speed should be rather fast, but it doesn’t need to be breakneck speeds. IF there is an error while running.. for example the page didn’t load, the macro must have some kind of action response like either reload and retry, or stop the process and start again from where it left.
So the bottom line is to create some kind of simple macro/client program I can input a list of sites into for the sole purpose of creating CJ PIDs that will be saved to my list.
