Make changes on Shopping Cart
I want to to create an updated and improved e-commerce shopping cart model, the idea is create a better one from an existing open source one, adding better functions and some ideas on it. I want to create my own product.
I already have an open source shopping cart – Magento, I also have others but this one I think is the best one at the moment, so, what I need to know is this:
Is it possible to make all the changes that I want from an open source product? I want to change:
- Colors
- Logos
- Some parts of the layout
- Banner
- make it very easy to implement in any type of website using Dreamweaver (if possible)
and a few more changes
I want to use this open source program just as a base, in order to have something to work on, to be able to create and adapt my own ideas and create my own product. I don’t want to be accused of plagiarism, I want to change it in a way of getting the best from the open source but with my design style and modifications.

I also would like to have a tutorial file, (with a description step by step and using screen shots also), of how to implement the changed shopping cart on a simple website using Dreamweaver, all must be explained on the tutorial.
I’m also open to your ideas in order to improve the fictionality, add more features and any other ideas. If you do it you have to tell me the advantages, benefits they will have on the project.
