Sync Two Sites - Data / Images 24.07.08
I need to have a syncing program / chron job of some kind developed to automate the process of updating a “secondary” site from the database and images of a “primary” site…
Basically, have a .com (primary) and .net (secondary) version of the same site… Each is hosted with different hosts in different locations…
I need to keep several items 1 way updated between the sites…
Task 1: Data Updates: Basically, I’d like some sort of chron job (other) created to do a one way update from one master site’s database tables (7 specific tables) to another sites db tables… Table structures on both sites are identical… one site just holds the master data and the other one I want to keep updated…
you can either delete data in recipient table and re-import, or do however you need to… None of these tables will ever have thousands of rows in them… just maybe a couple of hundred rows..
Task 2: Image Updates: I would like you to sync the images (folders and files) in the primary images folder from primary site to same folder on secondary site…. You may need to do some last updated checks on these b/c its quite a few and would be a pretty large transfer every night if you just overlayed everything from primary to secondary site… There won’t be many updates… Mainly just needed to copy over new product images as they get added…
both sites are run on LAMP architecture..
I need this completed fairly quickly..
